How I Work

I work with experienced leaders operating in complex organisational environments where clarity, judgement, and agency are frequently tested.

My work is grounded in the belief that strong leadership under pressure is not about doing more, but about seeing more clearly, deciding more accurately, and acting with intent.

The way I work reflects this.

My approach

I do not begin with programmes, frameworks, or predefined solutions.

I begin with diagnosis.

Complex leadership challenges require careful sense making before action. Without this, effort is often misdirected and pressure increases rather than resolves.

This is why my work is structured around the CAR lens.

The CAR lens

CAR stands for Clarity, Agility, and Results.

It reflects how experienced leaders regain traction in complexity.

Clarity
Understanding what is actually happening in the system around you, including dynamics, assumptions, and emotional load that may be distorting judgement.

Agility
Regaining choice in how you respond, influence, and lead, particularly when conditions are changing or pressure is high.

Results
Ensuring action is aligned with what truly matters, rather than reacting to urgency or noise.

CAR is not a model to apply.
It is a way of thinking and working in real leadership conditions.

The CAR Diagnostic

Most leaders begin with a Complimentary CAR Diagnostic.

This is a focused diagnostic conversation designed to clarify the leadership context, identify where complexity is creating friction, and determine what form of support is most appropriate.

The diagnostic is not a sales conversation.
It is a structured space for sense making and decision clarity.

Leaders typically leave with:
• sharper understanding of what is really going on
• language for challenges they have struggled to name
• greater clarity on what needs attention next

What happens after the diagnostic

Following the CAR Diagnostic, one of three things typically becomes clear:

• executive coaching is the right support for a specific challenge or period of pressure
• a Strategic Leadership Partnership is appropriate for ongoing complexity and responsibility
• no further support is needed at this time

All outcomes are valid.

The purpose of the diagnostic is clarity, not commitment.

Ways of working

Depending on context and need, I work with leaders through:

• Executive Coaching for Complexity and Crisis
• Strategic Leadership Partnership

Both are grounded in the same thinking, but differ in scope, duration, and intent.

Closing

Leadership in complexity demands clear thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to act with agency under pressure.

How I work is designed to support exactly that.
